Held on 20 July 2026 at Botanica Deli, CENGILD's Health Talk and Familiarisation Tour brought together around 50 AIA representatives for an engaging afternoon of expert-led talks, insightful discussions and meaningful networking, further strengthening the partnership between CENGILD and AIA while promoting the importance of preventive healthcare.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Dato' Dr Tan Huck Joo, Executive Chairman of CENGILD, who shared CENGILD's journey, its specialist expertise in gastroenterology and liver care, and its commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred healthcare. He also offered attendees an exciting glimpse into CENGILD's next chapter by sharing updates on its upcoming specialist hospital and its vision to expand specialist services to better serve the evolving healthcare needs.

The afternoon continued with an insightful session by Dr See Lay May, Consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist, who spoke about colorectal cancer, one of the most common yet preventable cancers when detected early. Through practical advice and clinical insights, she highlighted the importance of recognising warning signs, understanding individual risk factors and not delaying screening, reminding attendees that early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes.

Complementing the session, Dr Cindy Tan introduced the Fecal Occult Blood (FOB) Test Kit, explaining how this simple, non-invasive screening tool detects hidden blood in stool. This early sign may require further investigation. Her session reinforced the message that taking a simple screening test today could make a meaningful difference to long-term health.

Rounding off the talks, Ms Wong Wui Sin guided attendees through the patient journey at CENGILD, offering a better understanding of what patients can expect from their first consultation through to diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care. Her presentation highlighted CENGILD's coordinated multidisciplinary approach and the personalised care patients receive at every stage of their healthcare journey.

The programme concluded with a familiarisation tour of CENGILD G.I. Medical Centre, where attendees had the opportunity to explore the facilities, gain a better understanding of its specialist services and experience first-hand the patient-centred environment that defines CENGILD. The tour provided valuable insights into how the multidisciplinary team works together to deliver seamless, coordinated care.

To conclude the afternoon, attendees received a complimentary Fecal Occult Blood (FOB) Test Kit, encouraging them to take a proactive step towards colorectal cancer screening and preventive healthcare. The event also provided ample networking opportunities, with guests exchanging ideas, asking questions and engaging in meaningful conversations with the CENGILD team in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

The successful event reflected the shared commitment between CENGILD and AIA to promote preventive healthcare through education, awareness and early detection. By combining expert-led talks, engaging discussions, a guided tour of the medical centre and practical takeaways, the programme empowered attendees with valuable knowledge while strengthening the partnership between both organisations in advancing better health outcomes for the community.
