Successful Blood Donation Campaign on World Blood Donor Day

Kuala Lumpur, 14 June 2024 – The Blood Donation Campaign, held in conjunction with World Blood Donor Day, was a great success, highlighting the importance of regular blood donation. Organised with support from DATS Property Management, the National Blood Centre, and Wiki Lab Sdn Bhd, the event saw strong community participation, helping to boost the nation’s blood supply.

The National Blood Centre ensured safe and efficient blood collection, while Wiki Lab Sdn Bhd played a key role in reaching out to the community. This campaign aimed to tackle blood shortages and raise awareness about the impact of blood donation in saving lives.

The event began at 8:30 AM with setup, followed by the blood donation drive at 9:00 AM. Donors from all walks of life took part, including first-time and regular donors. The campaign focused on:

  • Educating the public on the importance of blood donation.
  • Encouraging new donors to step forward.
  • Motivating regular donors to continue donating.
  • Strengthening community involvement.
  • Building partnerships with local businesses and organisations.

At 2:00 PM, donors and supporters were recognised with a token of appreciation before the event wrapped up at 3:00 PM.

This year’s campaign exceeded expectations, meeting the urgent needs of hospitals and medical facilities. The success of this event shows the power of community action in supporting healthcare.

Moving forward, organisers aim to encourage more regular donations and integrate blood donation into corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes. The campaign’s success reminds us that every blood donation can save a life.

A big thank you to all donors, partners, and volunteers for making this event possible. Let’s continue the spirit of giving and ensure a steady blood supply for those in need.
