CENGILD G.I. MEDICAL CENTRE CELEBRATES EIGHT YEARS OF EXCELLENCE AND UNVEILS NEW LOGO

BANGSAR SOUTH, KUALA LUMPUR, 9 October 2025 — Cengild G.I. Medical Centre commemorated its eighth anniversary with a celebration marking eight years of medical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centred care. The occasion also featured the exclusive unveiling of its new corporate logo, symbolising the organisation’s continued growth and evolution. 

The event, held at the outer premise of Cengild G.I. Medical Centre, Nexus Bangsar South, brought together founding members, consultants, staff, business partners, and invited guests to honour the centre’s achievements and enduring commitment to excellence in gastroenterology and liver care. 

In his opening address, Executive Chairman and Founder, Dato’ Dr. Tan Huck Joo, reflected on the early days of Cengild’s inception, which began as a vision shared among six friends to establish a centre of excellence dedicated to gastroenterology and liver health. 

“Eight years ago, Cengild began as a dream shared among friends,” he said. “Today, it stands as a testament to what can be achieved through teamwork, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in making a difference. Our new logo embodies growth, strength, and the continuity of care — reflecting our commitment to connection, compassion, and a holistic approach to health. These are the values that define who we are and what we stand for.” 

Dato’ Dr. Tan also shared his enthusiasm for the future, announcing that Cengild will soon embark on a new journey with the development of its very own hospital — a major milestone that marks the organisation’s transformation into a more comprehensive healthcare institution dedicated to advancing specialised and holistic care. 

Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, Dr. Jaxinthe Ong, one of the founding members, delivered a heartfelt introductory speech before the premiere of the milestone video titled “8 Years of Excellence.” The video chronicled Cengild’s evolution and paid tribute to the individuals who have shaped its journey over the years. 

Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Stephanie Lee, expressed her appreciation to Cengild’s consultants, staff, and business partners for their ongoing dedication and support. 

“Today is not only a celebration of how far Cengild has come, but also a reflection of our team’s unwavering commitment and shared vision,” said Ms. Lee. “To our insurance and business partners, TPAs, referral networks, and vendors — thank you for your continued trust in helping us deliver quality care to more patients. And to our patients, your courage and trust continue to inspire everything we do.” 

Founding member Dr. Ramesh K. Gurunathan and Co-founder Dr. Mustafa Mohammed Taher Al-Khafaji, both Consultant Upper GI, General and Bariatric Surgeons, also shared their reflections on Cengild’s journey and reaffirmed the centre’s commitment to excellence in patient care. 

The celebration concluded with the unveiling of Cengild’s new logo, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. The moment symbolised not only eight years of success but also the beginning of a new chapter — a continued journey defined by compassion, expertise, and innovation.
