Gastroenterology & Hepatology

"All disease begins in the gut." – Hippocrates

Your gut does more than just digest food, it’s the foundation of your overall health, influencing everything from your energy levels to your immune system and even your mood. But when something feels off, it’s easy to dismiss symptoms as just another stomachache or indigestion. However, some digestive issues need more than a quick fix. Persistent discomfort, unexplained weight loss, or changes in your bowel habits could be signs of something more serious, like colon or stomach cancer. If you’re experiencing ongoing bloating, heartburn, difficulty swallowing, or blood in your stool, it’s important to pay attention to your body’s signals and seek medical advice when needed.

At Cengild G.I. Medical Centre, we understand how digestive health impacts your daily life. Our Gastro & Liver Centre brings together a team of expert gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and GI surgeons dedicated to providing advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive treatments, and personalised care. Whether it’s a minor gut issue or a complex liver condition, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Our Services

Endoscopy is a medical procedure where a doctor inserts a thin, flexible tube with a camera to examine internal organs. Different types of endoscopy target specific areas of the body:

Examines the oesophagus, stomach, and duodenum to diagnose and treat acid reflux, ulcers, coeliac disease, and other upper digestive issues.
Inspects the colon, rectum, and anus for cancer screening and conditions like rectal bleeding or changes in bowel habits.

A non-surgical procedure to assess the small intestine using a special endoscope.

  • Device-assisted enteroscopy (DAE): also known as ballon assisted enteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a specialised tube to diagnose and treat small bowel disorders.
  • This procedure can be performed through the mouth (antegrade approach) or the colon (retrograde approach).
A partial colonoscopy focusing on the lower third of the large intestine for investigating symptoms in the left sided colon, rectum and anal canal.
Uses a pill-sized camera swallowed to capture images of the small intestine, transmitted to a wearable recorder over eight hours.
Combines endoscopy with ultrasound imaging to assess the oesophagus, stomach, bile ducts and pancreas. A fine needle biopsy may be taken for diagnosis.
This technique combines endoscopy and X-rays to diagnose and treat certain problems of the biliary or pancreatic ductal systems.
A feeding tube placed directly into the stomach via endoscopy for patients unable to eat or drink.
Diagnosis & treatment of stomach infections
Non-invasive liver stiffness assessment for early disease detection
